Paint. Write. Build something with your hands. It doesn't need to be good. It needs to be yours
19 SEPTEMBER Every year Every day asks for your attention. On 19 September, World Retreat Day asks for a little of it back — time that belongs entirely to you
Rest. Create. Explore. Reconnect. Or simply be. However you spend it, make 19 September yours.
You don't need to go anywhere to take a retreat. It's time you deliberately set aside from your usual routine — to reconnect with yourself, or with whatever matters most to you right now.
It could be a quiet morning before the day starts, an hour with a sketchbook, a walk with no destination, or an unhurried conversation with someone you love.
You can travel for it. You can stay exactly where you are.
There is no one way to retreat. Choose what feels right for you.
19 September — Retreat in your own way
Set aside intentional time for yourself — at home, nearby, or somewhere new. Alone, or with people you love.
9 PM Local Time — 60 Minutes of Silence
Spend an hour in silence, wherever 9 PM finds you. As it arrives across time zones, the same quiet moment moves around the world.
Beyond the day — 15 Minutes for Yourself
Carry the practice forward. Fifteen quiet minutes, found whenever you can, can become a habit that outlasts the day itself.
Rest? Creative time? Company? Solitude? Be honest about what you're missing right now.
then choose a place and a stretch of time that fit.
On 19 September, give yourself the time you've chosen. Tell the people around you if you need uninterrupted space, and put distractions aside where you can.
Fifteen minutes, an hour, an evening or longer — it all starts with making room.
At 9 PM, wherever you are, join 60 Minutes of Silence.
Can't make the full hour? Join for what you can. Skipping it entirely is fine too — you're still part of World Retreat Day either way.
60 Minutes of Silence
Find a comfortable place and sit or rest quietly. Set aside conversation, music and screens where you can. No livestream, teacher or meditation experience is needed. Everyday sounds and thoughts are fine—there's nothing to empty out and nothing to achieve.
No booking, payment or registration is required to participate in your own way.
If you'd like to share afterward, tag #WorldRetreatDay. If you'd rather keep it private, that's just as valid.

Sing. Dance. Act. Try the thing you've always wanted to, with no one grading you.
Pick back up the sport, game, or hobby you keep meaning to return to.
Take an unfamiliar route. Visit somewhere new. Notice something you've walked past a hundred times.
Give someone your full, uninterrupted attention. No phone, no multitasking.
Read. Walk. Sit. Think. Or simply do nothing. Sometimes that is exactly what you need.
Your retreat doesn't need to impress anyone.
It just needs to mean something to you.You don't need to travel far.
You don't even need to spend money.
Start with whatever time you can give yourself.

On 19 September, take some time for yourself.
On 19 September, take time for yourself. It doesn't matter where you are, what you do, or how long you have
what matters is that you step away, on purpose, and spend that time on something that actually matters to you.
A simple invitation to step away from the everyday, make space for yourself, and reconnect with what matters.
World Retreat Day was initiated by XplorKaro in 2026, with the first World Retreat Day held on 19 September 2026.
19 September is now the annual date for World Retreat Day — a day dedicated to stepping away from the everyday and making intentional time for yourself.
One day, every year. A practice you can carry throughout the year.
There's always something asking for your attention — work, responsibilities, family, messages, deadlines, expectations.
Somewhere along the way, we can forget to make time for the things we simply want to do.
A day to step away from the routine for a little while. A day to make space for themselves.
That's why we initiated World Retreat Day — 19 September.
We hope it becomes a day that belongs to everyone.
